Bush fire in the Victorian's Grampians

My thoughts are in particular with the community of Pomonal in Victoria's Grampians, but also with all those impacted by the current bushfire situation and by the ferocious storms that lashed the state.

Please reach in and check on people if you are concerned! Make sure they are doing OK and ask if there is any way you can help!

If the extreme weather events are affecting you
or those close to you

and you are seeking support
please refer to the Support Resources page on my website.

TIACS launch a new initiative Don't Keep It Under Your Hat to get farmers talking about how they're travelling

TIACS have a new initiative to get farmers talking about how they’re travelling!

Don’t Keep It Under Your Hat is a campaign designed to get farmers talking, and in the right way.

It aims to normalise help-seeking behaviour and remove a tricky barrier to farmers getting the help they need earlier.

TIACS - This Is A Conversation Starter - provide free call/text mental health counselling for farmers, truckies, tradies, rural, blue collar workers Australia wide.

I am proud to have been able to provide input into the design of this important campaign.

Calling for a timely & effective response to natural disasters

Ever driven around in circles trying to find the best exit to take, hoping you choose the right one?

Now imagine feeling that same sense of uncertainty and anxiety in the aftermath of a natural disaster.

The initial recovery response, assessment of damage, and clean-up are overwhelming for those dealing with loss of property and community, and even loss of life. This leaves individuals and entire communities with a paralysing sense of uncertainty for the future.

Government and insurance bureaucracy must start refining their procedures to ensure a timely and effective response. .

My favourite quote - Brenè Brown

“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy —
the experiences that make us the most vulnerable.
Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
