I See You – To the Australian Farmer

In a world that claps for record yields,
Blue ribbons, big auctions, and TV reels,
I love seeing those who stand proud in the light
You’ve earned your moment, and that’s alright.
But this one’s for those whose wins aren’t loud,
Who keep going when there’s no crowd.
To the farmers out back and those near the town,
Digging in deep when the rains don’t come down
I see you.

To the one who gets up while it’s still pitch-black,
Bones aching, dog trotting at their back,
Fixing broken things with twine and hope,
Feeding stock while barely afloat
I see you.

To the farmer whose crops were washed away,
Still sowing again, come planting day,
To the ones who stayed while others sold,
Holding on through drought, dust, and cold
I see you.

To the bloke who couldn’t talk it through,
But found the guts to say, “Mate, I’m not okay, are you?”
To the ones who’ve buried mates too soon,
Who look up at stars and whisper to the moon
I see you.

To the family weighing up whether to stay or go,
Heart torn in two, but no rain to sow
I see you.

To the one making the call to destock today,
Holding it together as the truck drives away
I see you.

To those having quiet conversations late at night,
Wondering whether to sell, fight, or take flight
I see you.

There may be no medals or pats on the back,
But you are not invisible out on that track.
These decisions hurt, but still, you push through
I see you. And I stand with you.
